I am currently reading Chuck Palahniuk's Stranger Than Fiction. At his website, he has an essay in which he gives 13 tips for the fiction writer. Even his lists are interesting. Read it here.
btw, if you add target="blank" right after the quote marks of the URL you refer to and before the closing > mark before the text describing the link, the URL opens out of a window on your site and , when closed, the reader is still on your blog.
i like it, too, a.d. in his book, there is a story called "you are here," ironically the name of my blog, where he wries about how many people in the LA area are writers & screenwriters.
sheryl, kimberly: I liked the list, too. I hope it shakes me out of my slump and lethargy. Maybe it's the Fresno heat or my laziness these days, but I'm not writing much. The one that I need to remember is his tip to be comfortable with the "not knowing," since that's often my block. Have a good one!
Loved these -- I printed out the page so I could read them again offline. Love the idea of the egg timer and cleaning -- so THAT is how i can keep my place tidy! hooray!
pris, i can't figure out your tip. do i type all of that? (including the word, target?) and, in the URL I want to link to, there is no closing > mark. what am i doing wrong?

Lee,
Thanks so much for linking to this helpful list! Maybe an egg timer will help me write!

Somehow my typo correction comment isn't showing. The code is target="_blank">
Didn't want you to try it wrong, and I'm STILL enjoying that list.

jenni, i might do that, too...
Lee,
I'll do the tip in notepad, which doesn't make the code enact and email it to you.
