Furious Versions on a Deserted Island

In Suchitoto, a sleepy village town in northern El Salvador, it is hot today. Although I am not on an island (I'm heading to the coast next week, though) I keep thinking--what one poem would I want to have with me if I was deserted on a remote island?

Maybe I'm stretching for blog topics, but here it is anyway: Li Young Lee's "Furious Versions." I could go on about how holy I think it is, but like Larry Levis once said, "I refuse to explain."

It's just that way.

I think I would write a poem, instead of reading one. Thanks for sharing!

Enjoy your vacation!
