Lee Herrick Reads with Balance, Armen Nalbandian's New Ensemble

On Thursday, November 30th, 2006, I will be reading & opening up for Armen Nalbandian's new ensemble named “Balance” @ the Fresno Art Museum’s Rhythms of Art Concert.

Nalbandian has written an entirely new book of music especially for this ensemble configuration. The ensemble includes a remarkable group of musicians (yes, one of them is a Grammy nominee):

Armen Nalbandian: Fender Rhodes, Percussion
Kevin Hill: Bass, Tuba
Brian Hamada: Drums, Percussion
Paul Luckessi: Woodwinds
Andre Bush: Guitar
Tommy Delgado: Percussion, Guitar
Nino Moschella: Percussion, Vocals, Guitar
Michael Aguilar: Percussion, Harmonica
Kevin McDonald: Bass

This show should be awesome. I will read for 15-20 minutes (I am planning to read some music-related poems from my forthcoming book) and then get out of the way to let the music roll. I am beginning to think Nalbandian is one of Fresno's treasures.

Don't miss this event. Mark your calendars now.

That sounds awesome. Wish we didn't live so far away. Any chance of a podcast or something? :)

Forgive my ignorance, but who's the Grammy nominee? They've been playing "If You Believe" by Nino Moschella on XM's Hear Music channel all the time lately, funky mellow jam. :) Good luck and congrats!

I'm not sure if they will be broadcasting it. Maybe the CSUF station will carry it?

Oh, and no ignorance on your part...but the Grammy nominee (for his collaboration in 2005 with Nnenna Freelon for Best Jazz Vocal Album) is Andre Bush. I'm goning to have to check out Nino's song...thanks for the tip.
