David Wong was exonerated of a 1987 murder in New York, having spent over ten years in prison for a murder he did not commit. In August of 2005 he was deported to Hong Kong, which in my mind is a bittersweet conclusion. For more information on Wong's case, a statement by his support committee, a statement by David Wong himself, and articles about the case in New York Magazine and elsewhere, click here to visit the Free David Wong website.
I'm going to keep his website linked from this blog, just as I have linked Justice For New Americans, formerly the website for the Wen Ho Lee National Defense Fund. If you know of other cases similar to this, please feel free to post them in the comments area.
